At 0500 hrs, the pagers for Hagerman sprang to life with a report of a car fire in the North Bellport section of the Hagerman Fire District. While enroute Battalion 30 (Chief Tew) received reports from the dispatcher that the vehicle was close to a home with possible extension. With smoke visible in the morning sky, Hagerman knew they were going to work. Upon arrival, Chief Tew confirmed the callers reports of a car fire and had some very minor extension to the exposure 2 side of a 1 story private dwelling. Under the command of Lt. Ralph "jobs" Lettieri, Hagerman Engine 6 nosed into the driveway and the firefight was to begin. Veteran Chauffeur, Tommy Dunham dropped the rig into pump while FF's Stephen "burns" Felice and Anthony "nozzle jockey" Cerullo stretched in. With water flowing, FF Sean "rooster" Vignato was assigned the job of entry into the dwelling and check for extension. This alarm was placed under control in just 15 minutes and the crew, exhausted took up and made themselves available for the next run.
