The Hagerman Fire Department Junior "Gamblers" program was started in 1962 by Vincent Costanza Sr. This program was designed to allow kids between the ages of 10 and 16 to participate in fire-matic competitions in the Nassau/Suffolk Junior Drills. These competitions not only help teach the Juniors the basics of firefighting, but also an important fundamental in firefighting called "teamwork". Our team travels across Long Island to compete in the Annual New York State Juniors Tournaments. The team has won the New York State Championship in 1991, 1992, 1995, 1996, 2017 & 2018. Along with these championships they have placed every year in the top 5 in the state.
